Principal's Newsletter

Briscoe Families,
As we wrap up the 2nd six weeks next week, I want to share a few important reminders and celebrations. It has been an exciting semester, and I am proud of the hard work, accomplishments, and school spirit our students continue to demonstrate each day.

Cross Country
What a start to the season for our Cross-Country team! Briscoe swept the meet with team victories in 7th Grade Girls, 7th Grade Boys, 8th Grade Girls, and 8th Grade Boys. Congratulations to our runners and Coach Soileau on an incredible accomplishment. They represented Briscoe with pride!

Pep Rally - Monday, October 26
Our next pep rally will be held on Monday, October 26, from 3:15-4:30 PM.
Wristbands will continue to be sold during lunches on Monday for $5. Students may also earn wristbands through positive behavior and consistently meeting campus expectations. Proceeds support our cheer program and help fund the outstanding spirit events they provide throughout the year. Band, Cheer, and fall athletes (football and volleyball will attend for free. Parents are welcome to attend at no cost, and we hope you will join us as we celebrate our students and playoff teams.
Future Celebrations: This year, we will celebrate all of our athletic teams throughout the year during our pep rally schedule, recognizing the commitment, teamwork, and achievements of our student-athletes.

Positive Behavior and Supports (PBIS)

This year, Briscoe Junior High is strengthening our commitment to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), a proactive approach that teaches, recognizes, and reinforces positive student behavior. At the center of our PBIS efforts is the Briscoe Way, which outlines the expectations and values we want all students to demonstrate each day.

To support this initiative, we will be using the Minga app to recognize and reward students who consistently demonstrate the Briscoe Way. Staff members will be able to award points to students for positive behaviors, and students can redeem those points for items and incentives in our school store. Students are able to access the APP through Classlink.

We invite families to support this effort by donating items to our school store.

In addition, Minga will help us implement a Digital Hall Pass system. Students will use digital hallway passes whenever they leave the classroom. This tool will allow us to monitor student movement throughout the school, improve campus safety, and reduce lost instructional time by ensuring students are in class and learning as much as possible.

Our PBIS store is a HUGE success!

Our students have loved shopping at the PBIS Store, and our shelves are already running low!
We’re asking for your support to help restock the store and keep the positive rewards going. Every donation, big or small, helps us celebrate our students hard work and positive choices.
Thank you for supporting our students and our school!
