I’m not quite sure how we got here so quickly, but Fall Break has arrived! As we wrap up the first quarter of the school year, I hope your family has the opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved time together.
As a reminder, Progress Reports will be available on October 14th. We encourage families to review student progress and continue partnering with us to support student success.
When we return, we have two important weeks ahead that focus on building character, leadership, and healthy choices:
Character Counts Week - October 19th - 23rd
Character Counts is an opportunity to celebrate and promote the core character traits that help students become responsible, respectful, trustworthy, fair, caring, and good citizens. Throughout the week, students will participate in activities and celebrations that reinforce the importance of strong character both inside and outside the classroom.
Red Ribbon Week – October 26th - 30th
Red Ribbon Week is the nation's largest drug prevention awareness campaign. This week encourages students to make healthy choices, live drug-free, and commit to positive decision-making. Through campus activities and themed dress-up days, we will help students understand the importance of making choices that support a healthy future.
Please take a look at the dress-up theme days for both weeks and encourage your student to participate. These events are always a fun way to build school spirit while reinforcing important messages.
As I reflect on my first few months as principal at Briscoe Junior High, I want to thank you for the incredible support, kindness, and partnership you have shown our campus. It has been a privilege to join the Briscoe family this year, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve such an outstanding community of students, staff, and families.
Have a wonderful Fall Break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for an exciting second quarter!
