Introducing our New Orchestra Teacher

Dear Gold Track Orchestra Families,

Welcome to a new school year! My name is Dr. Sergio Lozano, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Gold Track Orchestra Director. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our orchestra students across Wertheimer Middle School, Briscoe Junior High, and Foster High School campuses and to become part of the Gold Track community.

As we begin the year, I want to thank everyone for your patience and flexibility. With a new director stepping into a program that spans multiple campuses, there are quite a few moving pieces behind the scenes. The district, campus administrative teams, and I are working closely together to make sure everything is organized and in place for our students. We anticipate that things will stabilize soon as we establish our routines, schedules, communication, and procedures for the year.

Most importantly, our students are at the center of that work. My goal is to build a Gold Track Orchestra program in which students can develop strong musical skills, gain confidence as performers, experience meaningful repertoire, and feel proud of the ensembles they represent. I am especially excited about creating continuity between our programs so that students can see a clear path for their musical growth from their first years in orchestra through high school.

Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing more information regarding orchestra procedures, calendars, performances, supplies, and other important details. I know families may already have questions, and I appreciate your patience while we make sure the information we provide is accurate and consistent across our campuses.
I am incredibly excited about what we can build together. A strong orchestra program depends not only on the work that happens in the classroom, but also on the encouragement and support students receive from their families, teachers, campuses, and community. I look forward to getting to know your students and meeting many of you throughout the year.
