Briscoe Families,
We had a blast visiting with so many of our families during Sneak Peek! Thank you for taking the time to come out and meet teachers, explore the building, and help us kick off what is sure to be a great year. We are fortunate to have such an engaged and supportive school community.
As we get ready for our first day of school on Tuesday, here are a few important reminders:
Student Schedules
Our counselors are continuing to enroll new students and balance classes each day. During the first week of school, schedule adjustments will only be made for:
- Missing classes
- Duplicate classes
- Incorrect placements
- Elective change requests will not be addressed at this time.
-
Every student will receive a printed schedule on the first day of school.
Student IDs and Lanyards
- Students will receive their ID badge and lanyard along with their schedule on the first day.
- For students who are new to Briscoe, we will work throughout the week to take pictures and print IDs.
- Please help us reinforce that IDs are part of our dress code and must be always worn around the neck while on campus. Once students receive their ID, they should have it on before entering the building each day.
- If a student forgets their ID, they may purchase a temporary ID. Because IDs are part of our dress code, habitual violations may result in disciplinary consequences.
Transportation
If your child rides a bus, please make sure they know their bus number before arriving on Tuesday.
If transportation was not requested by the district deadline, please refer to the transportation information previously shared. Students without an assigned bus will need alternate transportation to and from school until a route is established.
Dress Code
Dress code expectations are posted in our newsletter. Please take a few moments to review them with your child before the first day.
Cell Phones, Smart Watches, and Headphones
Cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, headphones, and similar devices must be turned off and stored in backpacks before students enter the building.
Teachers and staff will consistently enforce these expectations throughout the school day. Please review the attached cell phone policy and consequences with your child prior to Tuesday.
