Athletic Physical Submissions

Dear Parents,
As we prepare for the 2026–27 school year, we want to share an update regarding athletic physical submissions for student-athletes.

This year, we will begin accepting physical forms as PDF uploads. This allows our campus athletic trainers to review and verify eligibility more efficiently while reducing the need for handling paper documents.

If your student-athlete completes their physical during one of our scheduled campus physical dates, there is nothing you need to do. Our athletic trainers will collect, scan, and upload those forms directly into your student’s Rank One account.

For those who choose to complete a physical with a personal physician or are unable to attend the campus dates, a PDF upload option will be available. To ensure your student-athlete is cleared without delays, please make sure of the following:
  • The physical form must be uploaded as a PDF (pictures will not be accepted).
  • Both pages of the physical form must be fully completed.
  • The physician must complete and sign the actual physical examination page.
  • A parent/guardian must complete and sign the medical history portion.
  • The correct student ID number must be included on the form.

Our athletic trainers will review and verify all uploaded documents before adding them to the Rank One system.

This process is designed to make submissions more convenient and efficient for families while ensuring all documentation is properly recorded.

As a reminder, if your student-athlete attends a campus physical, you will not need to upload anything.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Devin Gabbard

PBIS

What is PBIS at Briscoe?
At Briscoe Junior High, we use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to encourage and celebrate positive student behavior. Through our school-wide initiative called The Briscoe Way, we focus on three key values: Respect for All, Safe Hallway Behavior, and 100% Effort. Students who demonstrate these behaviors earn PBIS points through our PBIS Rewards app, which they can use to purchase fun and useful items from our school store. To keep this program thriving, we welcome donations or purchases from our Amazon wish list to help stock the store and continue recognizing our amazing students!

Skyward Family Access

Family Access is a free service that is available to all parents and guardians with children enrolled in the district. Among other things, this service will allow you to view student attendance, grades, schedule, progress, and assignments. Family Access allows parents and guardians to easily track their students’ progress throughout the school year. There are even applications for Apple IOS and Android devices available from the appropriate app stores.

Additional information and support can be found in the Students & Parents area of the LCISD website.

ID Badges

Maintaining safe and secure schools is one of the priorities of Briscoe Junior High School and Lamar Consolidated ISD.

To maintain safe and secure schools, the district expectation is that all staff, students, and visitors wear an ID when they enter the building each day. ID badges are a security measure and are required to be visible while a student is on campus. Everyone in the building knows at a glance who belongs on our campus, and it is a quick way for emergency personnel who may not be familiar with our students to know who is who in an emergency situation. We want to provide a safe and orderly environment to foster student learning, and the ID badges will assist in the security of everyone on campus.

All identification badges must be maintained in the same condition as issued. All badges must be worn on a lanyard around the neck. Students who draw on the identification badge, scratch or deface the picture, punch holes, or apply stickers to the identification badge will have their identification badge taken up and charged for a new one.

Every student will be issued a new ID badge on the first day of school. We suggest that you purchase an extra badge to have as a back-up throughout the school year.

Please help us by encouraging your child to place their student ID in a safe location so they will remember to wear it every day.

*It will be considered a Dress Code violation if a student is not wearing their ID badge.
