Bathroom Notice

Due to ongoing vandalism in the boys restrooms, only a limited number of restrooms will be open until further notice.

Any student caught damaging school property, including bathrooms, will face severe consequences for their actions.

Please have a discussion with your student about appropriate bathroom etiquette. Help us keep our school clean and safe for everyone.

Eagles of the Week!

v

Jordane Tullao

Jordane truly exemplifies what it means to be Eagle of the Week. She is kind-hearted, humble, and consistently hard-working. Her dedication to doing her best inspires those around her, and she lifts others up simply by being herself. Jordane is always courteous in the hallways, respectful to everyone she encounters, and gives 100% in everything she does. We are incredibly fortunate to have her as a part of the Briscoe community.
-Mrs. Hlavaty

Eva Mastoi

Eva is such an incredible student. She gives 100% effort in class every day. She's a gifted writer and is dedicated to producing the best work possible. She is also an exemplary person and goes out of her way to be kind to others. I cannot say enough about Eva, and I'm truly grateful to have her in class.

Charles Davis

This student has shown an incredible transformation since last year! He comes to class focused, ready to learn, and consistently participates in discussions. He not only puts forth his best effort every day but also goes out of his way to help classmates who need extra support. His positive attitude and teamwork truly represent The Briscoe Way - showing respect, staying safe, and giving his best effort every day. I am proud of your growth and leadership!

PBIS

What is PBIS at Briscoe?
At Briscoe Junior High, we use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to encourage and celebrate positive student behavior. Through our school-wide initiative called The Briscoe Way, we focus on three key values: Respect for All, Safe Hallway Behavior, and 100% Effort. Students who demonstrate these behaviors earn PBIS points through our PBIS Rewards app, which they can use to purchase fun and useful items from our school store. To keep this program thriving, we welcome donations or purchases from our Amazon wish list to help stock the store and continue recognizing our amazing students!

We're asking parents to help us stock the staff lounge with snacks, drinks, and goodies to keep them fueled throughout the day. A Message from the Front Office

Attention Briscoe Parents:

The latest a student is able to be checked out of school through the front office is 4:00 pm.
Please make sure you are in the lobby before 4:00 to get the student checked out.
If it is after 4:00pm, your student will NOT be released until the end of the day at 4:30pm.

Early Release Days- the latest a student may be checked out is 12:30 pm. Parent must be in the building before that.

Lunch Policies:
  • Parents are welcome to bring lunch for their student only. Please NO large pizzas.
  • Deliveries by third party companies such as DoorDash and Uber Eats are not allowed and will be turned away.

Student Fines:

The lists of 7th & 8th Grade fines have been posted in the cafeteria. If your student has ever received a temporary badge, most likely they will have a fine on their account. Please have your student check if they owe anything. Fines on their account will prohibit them from being able to try to exempt finals at the end of the semester.

ID Badges

Maintaining safe and secure schools is one of the priorities of Briscoe Junior High School and Lamar Consolidated ISD.

To maintain safe and secure schools, the district expectation is that all staff, students, and visitors wear an ID when they enter the building each day. ID badges are a security measure and are required to be visible while a student is on campus. Everyone in the building knows at a glance who belongs on our campus, and it is a quick way for emergency personnel who may not be familiar with our students to know who is who in an emergency situation. We want to provide a safe and orderly environment to foster student learning, and the ID badges will assist in the security of everyone on campus.

All identification badges must be maintained in the same condition as issued. All badges must be worn on a lanyard around the neck. Students who draw on the identification badge, scratch or deface the picture, punch holes, or apply stickers to the identification badge will have their identification badge taken up and charged for a new one.

Every student will be issued a new ID badge on the first day of school. We suggest that you purchase an extra badge to have as a back-up throughout the school year.

Please help us by encouraging your child to place their student ID in a safe location so they will remember to wear it every day.

*It will be considered a Dress Code violation if a student is not wearing their ID badge.
