We’re excited to launch our Soaring Eagle of the Month to celebrate the incredible work happening across our campus every day!
Each month, every staff member will have the opportunity to recognize a colleague who has made a positive impact—whether through teamwork, innovation, kindness, or simply going above and beyond.

What is PBIS at Briscoe?
At Briscoe Junior High, we use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to encourage and celebrate positive student behavior. Through our school-wide initiative called The Briscoe Way, we focus on three key values: Respect for All, Safe Hallway Behavior, and 100% Effort. Students who demonstrate these behaviors earn PBIS points through our PBIS Rewards app, which they can use to purchase fun and useful items from our school store. To keep this program thriving, we welcome donations or purchases from our Amazon wish list to help stock the store and continue recognizing our amazing students!

🖤💛Our amazing Briscoe teachers and staff work so hard every day for our kids, and we'd love to show them a little extra appreciation! We're asking parents to help us stock the staff lounge with snacks, drinks, and goodies to keep them fueled throughout the day. Thank you for supporting the staff at Briscoe and showing them how much they're appreciated!
💡There are three ways you can help support our efforts...
-Shop our amazon wishlist 🔗 in comments
-Drop off individually wrapped snacks or packaged drinks to the front office

We are so excited that many of you have expressed interest in volunteering this year, and here’s your first chance! 😀
We will be supporting Briscoe by using volunteers to help run the PBIS store during lunches on Wednesday and Friday throughout the year. This will be a super fun way to help reward students for their positive behavior…and give you a chance to spy on your kiddos at lunch time 😉
There is a lot of info on this signup, because volunteers will need to go through a quick process to get a login for the app that is used in the PBIS store. We are happy to help if you have any questions!
Reach out to Rebecca Keasler (volunteercoordinator@parentsofbriscoe.org) for help!

LCISD will be participating in the “See to Succeed” Vision Program again this year. Briscoe students are scheduled to go on Thursday, October 30, 2025. We are only able to take 60 students per campus, so the first 60 students to return the completed permission packet will go. Packets are available for students to pick up in the Nurse’s Office. The completed packet will be due back to Nurse Walker by Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Packets will not be accepted after this date.
This will be a Field Trip event and includes a Free Eye Exam and a Free Pair of Glasses if needed. (even if they already have a pair of glasses, they can still attend and receive another pair of glasses). Any student who has failed a vision exam is eligible for the Free Exam/Glasses. Regardless of insurance coverage, there is no insurance information required, and insurance will not be billed.
Keep in mind before you sign up and take one of the 60 spots that this is an all-day event. Your student will get on the bus during 1st period and return around 7th period. They will be “Excused”, and this absence will have no bearing on their Exemption Eligibility or Attendance, but they will miss their classes that day. Our teachers understand what a great opportunity this is and are always willing to work with our students who attend.

Are you interested in STEM, leadership, and competition? Come learn more about the Technology Student Association (TSA) at our upcoming Informational Meeting on Tuesday, August 26th at 4:30 PM in Room 1517 (Mrs. Dilday’s room).
TSA is a national organization where students can compete in events like robotics, engineering design, digital media, public speaking, and much more—all while building teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
To be eligible for TSA, you must be enrolled in a CTE class with either Mrs. Dilday, Mrs. Claybaker, or Mrs. Smith.
Don’t miss this opportunity to get involved, compete, and represent Briscoe at regional and state levels. We hope to see you there!

Family Access is a free service that is available to all parents and guardians with children enrolled in the district. Among other things, this service will allow you to view student attendance, grades, schedule, progress, and assignments. Family Access allows parents and guardians to easily track their students’ progress throughout the school year. There are even applications for Apple IOS and Android devices available from the appropriate app stores.
Additional information and support can be found in the Students & Parents area of the LCISD website.

Maintaining safe and secure schools is one of the priorities of Briscoe Junior High School and Lamar Consolidated ISD.
To maintain safe and secure schools, the district expectation is that all staff, students, and visitors wear an ID when they enter the building each day. ID badges are a security measure and are required to be visible while a student is on campus. Everyone in the building knows at a glance who belongs on our campus, and it is a quick way for emergency personnel who may not be familiar with our students to know who is who in an emergency situation. We want to provide a safe and orderly environment to foster student learning, and the ID badges will assist in the security of everyone on campus.
All identification badges must be maintained in the same condition as issued. All badges must be worn on a lanyard around the neck. Students who draw on the identification badge, scratch or deface the picture, punch holes, or apply stickers to the identification badge will have their identification badge taken up and charged for a new one.
Every student will be issued a new ID badge on the first day of school. We suggest that you purchase an extra badge to have as a back-up throughout the school year.
Please help us by encouraging your child to place their student ID in a safe location so they will remember to wear it every day.
*It will be considered a Dress Code violation if a student is not wearing their ID badge.
